VISION

For the Puget Sound Region to be the vehicle for the development of Boys Volleyball.

GOALS

Creating a network of Clubs, Coaches and Directors at all levels in order to establish a continuation and improvement of Boys Teams/Programs.

Establish venues for these teams to compete against one another in a Tournament setting.

Build up these events in order to invite additional clubs from outside the area and make a Boys National Event here in the Puget Sound Region.

Club Volleyball Season is starting and we hope to see you out on the court this year!

Long Term: For the boys, we aim to popularize the sport and thus to lay the ground work for its eventual inclusion in our high schools as a varsity activity.  For the youth program, we seek to create low-cost opportunities for our younger boys volleyball players, so that they can stay involved with volleyball throughout the year . We plan to increase boys membership and provide quality programs through offering coaching and players clinics. To work closely with the Elementary School leagues, CYO, PAL, and Boy’s and Girl’s Clubs and work to target the Boys out of these leagues into our programs.

2008

We recognize that there is huge difference in the opportunities that currently exist for boys in our Region as compared to girls, and so the boys membership fee is just $15, versus the $60 charged for girls.  The purpose of this low fee to encourage as many boys, and as many teams, to participate in the coming season as is possible.

Age categories are as follows:

U12 Division (born on or after September 1, 1995)

U14 Division (born on or after September 1, 1993)

U16 Division (born on or after September 1, 1991)

U18 Division (born on or after September 1, 1989

Height of Net

U14 2.20M

U16 2.35M

U18 2.43M

All adults in this program will be required to undergo the standard USAV screening process, and coaches will be required to take the Region-sponsored IMPACT Clinic if they haven't done so already.  Adult coaches from 2005 season who have already completed the screening process will need to renew it until the 2007 season.

All teams must have a coach that has attended an officiating clinic. These can be arranged by contacting Robyn Filimaua at rpeckol@mindspring.com
