Boys Club Season 2009
VISION
For the Puget Sound
Region to be the vehicle for the development of Boys
Volleyball in Western Washington
GOALS
Creating a network of
clubs, coaches and directors at all levels to grow and
improve of boys’ volleyball teams/programs.
Establish venues for
these teams to compete against one another in a
tournament setting.
Build up events;
invite clubs from outside the area with the long term
goal of hosting a Boys National Event here in the Puget
Sound Region.
We recognize that
there is huge difference in the opportunities that
currently exist for boys in our Region as compared to
girls, and so the boy’s
membership fee is just $15, versus the $60 charged for
girls. The purpose of this low fee to encourage as
many boys, and as many teams, as possible to participate
in the coming season.
Age Divisions:
http://assets.teamusa.org/assets/documents/attached_file/filename/3085/2009AgeDefinition.pdf
Due to the limited
number of teams within our region there is a rough
division based on school age High school & Middle
School. When hosting Middle School event in region
please note there are two possible net heights.
Recognizing the developmental nature of boys, we
encourage the use of the lowest appropriate net height
for the majority of the boys playing such an event.
Height of Net
U15/18 2.43m (7’ 11” 5/8) PSR High School Teams
U13/14 2.24m (7’ 4”) PSR Middle school Teams
U11/12 2.13 m (7’0”) PSR Middle School Teams
Tournaments
In an effort to
accommodate family, religious and other sports
obligations, most current tournaments are planned for
Sunday afternoons. Doors open at noon. Your team must be
able to field a full score/ref. Suggested fee for PSR
teams playing these ½ day events is $50 contact club
director hosting the event to register your team and for
more information.

The Emerald City Classic Boys
Exhibition Tournament concluded5/24. In four years we
have grown from a single JR boys’ exhibition match to a
multi day international friendship tournament that has
become the best venue to get the word out about powers
and excitement of high level play out to the young guys
and gals :) in the Pacific Northwest. We could not do
this without the generous support of WVBA who donates
the court space as well as guides and supports Cascade’s
efforts in running the JR boys division at ECC. Full
results and photos will be posted at www.wvba.org under
the ECC link.
